As the Director of Global Missions, and previously the Missions Coordinator, for Inspired Performance, I get to see a side of ministry that many people never get to see.
I get a glimpse behind the scenes—the day-to-day operations, the preparation, the planning, the logistics, and, sometimes, the beautiful chaos that comes with getting a team ready to do ministry on the other side of the world.
And let me tell you, our in-country ministry partners are incredible!
There are so many moving pieces that have to come together to make a mission trip happen. Plans change. Schedules shift. New opportunities arise. Things need to be adjusted, sometimes at the very last minute. Through it all, our teams on the ground keep communication flowing while continuing to do the ministry God has called them to do.
And as I have watched this happen, I have seen something that has impacted me far beyond the logistics of missions.
I have watched the body of Christ come together.
Our in-country partners are constantly building new relationships, strengthening existing ones, and opening doors to new areas of ministry—ministries that take time, commitment, relationships, and, quite simply, boots on the ground.
What drives them is not recognition. It isn’t a particular organization or denomination. It isn’t about any name other than Jesus.
Their hearts are to serve and to see the name of Jesus brought to those who need Him most.
And that is what brings us together.
The teams may come from different backgrounds, different churches, different denominations, and different walks of life. We may not always do things the same way or see every issue exactly the same way. But we have something far greater in common.
Jesus.
And when we stand together under His name, we can do the work He has called us to do.
Seeing this kind of unity in the body of Christ has inspired and encouraged me more than I expected. It has reminded me that we don’t have to agree on everything to stand together for the name above every name.
We can lean into our similarities instead of allowing our differences to divide us.
We can combine our resources.
We can share our gifts and talents.
We can strengthen one another.
And when we do, our collective reach becomes so much greater than what any one of us could accomplish alone.
It has opened my eyes to possibilities I don’t know that I had fully seen before.
And isn’t that what the body of Christ is supposed to look like?
The Bible tells us that the body is made up of many different parts, each with a unique function. We aren’t all called to do the same thing. We aren’t all gifted in the same way. We aren’t all called to the same places.
But we are all part of the same body.
And when we learn to work together, to honor one another, to serve one another, and to put God’s Kingdom above our own preferences, we can accomplish so much more.
Sometimes, we simply have to check our pride at the door and embrace the calling together.
And what is that calling?
In a nutshell, it is the Great Commission:
Go and make disciples.
No matter where we serve in the body of Christ, the mission is the same.
Go.
Make disciples.
Help people know Jesus.
Help people become more like Him.
And that is one of the things I love about Inspired Performance and our community. Our heart is discipleship through each of the seven gates, believing that true transformation can happen in every area of our world.
We believe in creating space for people from different walks of life, different churches, different denominations, and different nations to come together, worship the name of Jesus, and become more like Him each and every day.
When we lock arms together, we are stronger.
When we combine our gifts, we reach farther.
When we stop competing and start collaborating, we create room for God to move.
And when we work together toward the common goal of seeing lives changed and disciples grow to look more like Christ, the Kingdom advances.
We each play a part.
The question is: What part do you play?
Where is God calling you to go?
Where is He calling you to make disciples?
Maybe your mission field is across the globe.
Maybe it is your neighborhood.
Maybe it is your workplace.
Maybe it is your school, your church, your family, or the person sitting next to you today.
Not sure how to answer those questions?
Start by asking the Lord.
And then—this is the important part—be willing to say yes when He gives you the answer.
You don’t have to know every detail. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You simply have to be willing to take the next step of obedience.
Because someone is waiting on the other side of your YES.
So wherever He sends you, whatever He asks you to do, and whoever He places in your path…
GO.
The mission is bigger than any one of us.
But together, as the body of Christ, we can lock arms, lift high the name of Jesus, make disciples, and watch the Kingdom of God advance.
Your yes matters. Your part matters. And the journey is worth it.
